Start Here: Your First Steps
What is Goldi? Why should I use Goldi?
Goldi is an AI Career Coach that helps you think through your interests, strengths, and goals as they relate to social capital and career opportunities. Unlike ChatGPT and other AI tools, it doesn't just give you answers — it asks you questions that help you figure out the answers yourself. It'll help you craft powerful introductions for building connections, preparing for interviews, and tackling job searches.
How do I log into Goldi?
Sign up using the link provided by your instructor or institution using your school or institution specific email, if applicable. Once you've created your account, you can log in at any time from goldi.climbtogether.co.
When I log in, what should I expect?
You'll land on your program page showing your assigned Goldi chats. Start with the first chat and work through them in order — each builds on the last.
How do I log back in?
Go to goldi.climbtogether.co and click 'Sign In'. Use the same email and password or social login you used when you signed up. Not sure which email you used? Check your welcome email from Goldi — subject line "Welcome to Goldi — Save This Email." It lists the exact address your account and progress are tied to, plus your Goldi link. (Search your inbox for goldi@climbtogether.co if you can't find it.)
Sometimes there's a lag in waiting for Goldi to speak. Is that normal?
Yes — Goldi uses AI to generate her responses in real time, so there can be a 1–3 second pause before she speaks. This is normal. If the lag is longer than 10 seconds, try refreshing the page.
Can I use text with Goldi?
Yes! You can switch between voice and text at any time using the "T" (for text) button during a chat.
Does Goldi remember what I said in prior chats?
Yes — Goldi carries key context from your previous chats forward so you don't have to repeat yourself. The conversations build on what you've shared over time.
Who do I reach out to if I have questions?
Reach out to Tech Support for technical issues. For questions about your program, reach out to your instructor or program lead.
Is my information private when I use Goldi?
Yes — your privacy is important to us. Goldi only collects what's needed to support your learning, like your name, email, and your conversations with Goldi. Your information is never sold or used to train AI models, and it's protected with industry-standard encryption. Your conversations remain private and are used only to personalize your coaching experience. If you use voice chat, those recordings are automatically deleted after 90 days. You can access, update, or delete your information at any time by contacting us at privacy@climbtogether.co. You can read the full privacy policy at Privacy Policy | Climb Together.
Is Goldi bad for the environment?
It's a fair question — AI does use energy, and we'd rather be upfront about that. Here's what's worth knowing: a Goldi chat is a short text conversation, not video or image generation. Research suggests one AI text response generates about as much carbon as sending a few emails. It's also worth comparing it to the alternative — in-person career coaching typically costs $100–$300 a session and involves commuting and office space. Goldi makes that kind of support available to students who otherwise couldn't access it. We think using AI for something genuinely useful — like helping you figure out your next career step — is worth it.
Your Goldi Roadmap
Which chat do I start with?
Start with the first chat in your assigned program. Your program page shows the recommended order — follow it for the best experience.
If I'm ready to expand my network or search for a job, which chats do you recommend?
Which chats you have depends on your program — core chats vary from one to the next — but if the LinkedIn chapter is part of yours, that's the place to focus. Complete "Get Started on LinkedIn," then, in "Make New Connections on LinkedIn," Goldi will help you find people at organizations where you'd like to land a role, and reach out to them in a way that actually gets responses. If you don't see the LinkedIn chapter in your program, ask your instructor which of your chats covers outreach and building a network.
I have a career chat scheduled! How can Goldi help me get ready?
Explore "Ask Open-Ended Questions," "Active Listening," and "Navigate Fears Around Making an Ask."
I completed a career chat. What should I do now?
Goldi guides you on what to do after a career chat in "Find Ways to Stay in Touch" and "Build Long-Term Professional Connections."
How long does it take to use Goldi?
Each chat is 10–20 minutes. Most programs include 6–12 chats. You can do them at your own pace — we often recommend breaking them up into three separate chats but do whatever fits your schedule.
Is This for Me?
I am still in school and not looking for a full-time job right now. Is this for me?
Absolutely! Now is the perfect time to build your network. Developing authentic relationships takes time, so start while you're in school. Connect with faculty, staff, administrators, and professionals you meet through internships or career exploration. These connections can become mentors and supporters when you're ready to job search or prepare to transfer to a 4-year college or university.
I am looking for a summer job or internship. Will this program work for me?
Yes! The core principles work for everyone. Goldi automatically tailors the examples, success stories, and strategies to address your unique challenges and opportunities.
I'm not naturally good at networking. Will this still work for me?
That's exactly who Goldi is built for. Networking doesn't have to be awkward. Goldi teaches you a natural, low-pressure approach to building professional relationships — one conversation at a time.
What if I don't have a large network?
Everyone starts somewhere. Goldi helps you identify the connections you already have — professors, alumni, classmates, former coworkers — and shows you how to reach out in a way that feels authentic.
